ARC Phase 3: Community Building

Playing Your Part in Anti-Racist Community Building


StageSource’s next offering in pursuit of anti-racist community building is designed to strengthen each individual participant’s capacity and commitment to engage in frank community conversations and actively pursue change in their spheres of influence.


Commitment: Three 2 hour sessions over the course of 5 weeks, plus additional readings and activities to be completed between meetings.   Session 1 & 3 will be small-group sessions and session 2 will be a  large group session.  


Session 1: Skillbuilding for Individual Growth

  • Exploring what it means to prioritize anti-racism as an individual

  • Orienting to anti-racism as a lifestyle

  • Understanding patterns, motivations, and realities  anti-racism

  • Pursuing emotional intelligence and justice; building resilience

Thursday, November 18, 10am–12pm


Session 2: Level Setting in Context

  • Clarifying concepts

  • Understanding racial realities of Boston and New England in and beyond the arts

  • Internalizing the role of training


Wednesday, December 1, 6–8pm


Session 3: Interdependence as the Way Forward

  • Reflecting on learnings and areas for continued growth

  • Exploring and committing to what “the work” really is

  • Establishing individual and community next steps

 

Wednesday, December 15, 6–8pm

Thursday, December 16, 10am–12pm


This program can accommodate up to 45 participants.


BIPOC participants will have the option to participate in BIPOC-only meetings for the first and third sessions.
