Prop Co-op

Prop Co-op The community prop storage warehouse that serves the New England theater community

The Prop Co-op is a shared props storage warehouse that serves theater organizations across New England. Members contribute their prop inventory and have access to the entire collection of props and warehouse staff. Membership fees are based on each company's operating budgets. Other services such as props sourcing, maintenance, repairs, and delivery may be available for additional fees. Non-members will be able to rent pieces on a per piece/per week basis.

FAQ

What is the Prop Co-op?
This initiative will establish a shared props storage warehouse that serves theater organizations across New England. In exchange for an annual membership fee, organizations will be able to contribute to and borrow from the collection.

To start, the warehouse will be open two days/week, during which organizations will be able to pick up and drop off. Additional or different hours may be arranged on a case-by-case basis.

In addition to maintaining a physical collection of props, the Prop Co-op will also maintain a website that allows organizations to view objects remotely, and to place an order for curbside pickup. Other services like props sourcing, maintenance, repairs, and delivery may be available for additional fees.

Where is the Prop Co-op?
You can find the Prop Co-op in a 3500 sq. ft. location in the heart of downtown Worcester, MA. Aptly referred to as the "heart of the Commonwealth", Worcester is not only centrally located in MA, but also New England, and will make the Prop Co-op more equally accessible to organizations across the region.

Why join the Prop Co-op?
A centralized props resource allows the region's organizations to share inventory, save space at their own brick-and-mortar locations, and reduce the cost of prop storage and procurement.

How does membership to the Prop Co-op work?
The co-op can open only with our collective commitment. Below, please find the sliding scale we have developed to assess Prop Co-op membership fees.

Tier I - Operating budget under $50k - Annual membership fee of $500
Tier II - Operating budget between $50k-$99,999k - Annual membership fee of $1000
Tier III - Operating budget between $100-$249,999k - Annual membership fee of $2000
Tier IV - Operating budget between $250k-$499,999k - Annual membership fee of $4000
Tier V - Operating budget between $500k-$999,999k - Annual membership fee of $6000
Tier VI - Operating budget between $1m-$2.49m - Annual membership fee of $8000
Tier VII - Operating budget between $2.5m-$4.99m - Annual membership fee of $10000
Tier VIII - Operating budget of $5m+ - Annual membership fee of $12000

Again, your annual commitment will grant you unlimited access to the Prop Co-op, and allow the collective to cover all costs, including but not limited to rent, phone, internet, website, utilities, insurance, and staffing. The more companies that join, the more services can become available and the more we can distribute the expenses. Please note, membership fees can be paid in a lump sum or on a quarterly basis.

Ok, thanks! We're excited and ready to commit. What do we do next?
